DESCRIPTION

Natural probiotic vaginal suppositories to restore and maintain healthy flora

Medigyne provides rapid relief from a range of disorders causing vaginal discomfort, including unpleasant odours, itching and abnormal discharge.

Medigyne contains two patented probiotic strains of lactobacilli that have been carefully selected and clinically tested. As lactobacilli bacteria produce lactic acid, they stabilise the vagina’s pH levels, thus reinforcing its natural defences against infection.

Clinically proven to:

Reduce symptoms (including unpleasant odours and itching) in 80% of users within 8 days*
Prevent recurrences of bacterial vaginosis for six months in two-thirds of patients who took three 10-day courses of medigyne**

Recommended use

Insert one medigyne suppository high into the vagina before going to bed each night for eight to ten days. Do not use during menstruation. Longer courses of medigyne are possible if necessary. Since medigyne does not contain hormones, it is suitable for pregnant women.

Prospective, monocentric, randomized, double-blind study on 100 women over 18 years of age with symptomatic bacterial vaginosis, divided into two groups of 50 patients and treated for 7 days with clindamycin cream, then for 10 days or until menstruation with 1 capsule / day of lactobacilli (L. rhamnosus and L. gasseri) for the first group, or 1 capsule / day of a placebo for the second group. This treatment was continued for three successive menstrual cycles. Patients self-swabbed prior to menstruation for 6 months. Patients attended follow-up visits after 6 months (4 months after the last placebo or probiotic treatment). Results: absence of relapse with medigyne: 64.9% (n=24/37). Absence of relapse with placebo: 46.2% (n=18/39). p=0.06.

Does mediGYNE lead to increased vaginal discharge?

We have received no complaints about this effect, nor did testers mention this kind of problem during in-house testing.

Can I use mediGYNE while pregnant?

Like all probiotics, mediGYNE can be used during pregnancy. However, as the patient information leaflet states, “If you are pregnant or trying to conceive, you should consult your doctor before using mediGYNE.” This is so that women do not attempt to treat vaginosis without obtaining medical advice beforehand: vaginosis can have serious consequences for pregnant women.

Does mediGYNE reduce the effectiveness of condoms?

No, mediGYNE does not reduce the effectiveness of condoms.
